Had the most fantastic week at Lac Solace.

Had the most fantastic week at Lac Solace. Having fished Lac du Coron previously we were expecting great things from Nic and it didn't disappoint. The lake was a perfect size for 3 people to have their own piece of water for their 3 rods.

We fished safe in the knowledge that there were no snags apart from a few, small clumps of weed that you can wade out to if needed.

The fishing was great fun with 2 of us obtaining 1 or more PBs topped by 2 x 38lb commons, 39lb 14oz, 41lb, 42lb and 46lb mirrors. Nic was a superb host and his knowledge of the lake aided us in our captures. Wont be too long till we are back. see you soon.

18 months in the waiting and despite many obstacles the week arrived. Easy communication and arrival, quick spin round the lake and get set up.

Nic advised on spots to fish, and using his own bait (get on the wafters !) I set up in the Old Jetty with a view to feeding and fishing The Bench and Wallace's in the day. Slow start but the fish started to feed over the bait ending up with mirrors of 43, 39-10, 36-2, 33-8, 29-2 and 21-10 and commons of 36-3 (PB), 35-12, 17-8 and a low double wildie. Great social on the Tuesday night with Nic with a takeaway and a mid 50 for Nic next morning.

Lovely people, great lake, secluded, private and peaceful with amazing wildlife to boot. I will return

Lac solace is what carp fishing is all about.

Having kept up to date with the progress of the lake since purchase it was better than I could ever have expected.

Rumbling down the track in the ole transit we were welcomed by a sweeping meadow of wild flowers, an abundance of wildlife and a real sense of nature.

This is what carp fishing is all about to.

The lake ... approximately 3 acres in size is an ideal challenge for any experienced angler, with a rock hard bottom, weed beds and inviting margins to explore.

During our stay the weather was amazing ... luckily the residence agreed and we were able to see the some of the huge specimens Nic has hand picked sunning themselves in all areas of the lake.

Wow what a true carpers paradise Solace is. From the moment the original wooden gates are passed and you're treated to a meadow of wild flowers you'll catch the first glimpses of Solace and it's beauty. Instantly taken back by the nature of the lake, the surroundings and tranquillity you'll be itching to find its inhabitants that reside.... we sure were!

During our brief visit we spent warm evenings watching the Solace inhabitants put on amazing shows. Not a breath of wind, full moon and frogs in full chorus the Solace vibe gets under you're skin, and rightly so.

Highlighted by 6 fish to over 50lb, and all astutely picked by the owner for their looks and potential to top many an anglers photo album. This absolutely adds to the incredible atmosphere been created.
